Finnish consumers named Valio the best brand in Finland on responsibility issues. The result was published by Sustainable Brand Index™, the most extensive brand study in the Nordic countries focused on sustainable development and responsibility. This was the third time the study has been conducted in Finland.
It set out to determine brand responsibility in relation to e.g. environmental and social responsibility in accordance with the UN Global Compact initiative, and the fulfilment of consumers’ expectations.
Each brand was evaluated by at least 1,000 consumers. Valio won for the second year in a row.
The Sustainable Brand Index™ study was established in Sweden in 2011 and first conducted in Finland, Denmark and Norway in 2013. The study sought the opinions of 27,000 consumers on 709 different brands.
In Finland, more than 5,000 consumers responded, evaluating 120 selected brands.
What is Sustainable Brand Index™?
Sustainable Brand Index™ is the largest brand study in the Nordic countries focused on sustainability. The annual study covers the biggest brands in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. They are selected on the basis of market share, turnover, number of personnel, and general brand awareness.
The winners in the other Nordic countries were food producer Saltå Kvarn in Sweden, outdoor brand Stormberg in Norway, and food retailer Irma in Denmark. Irma is one of Danish Coop’s brands.
