Valio’s Russian plant introduces a second processed cheese line

A second processed cheese line, now packing Valio Viola® processed cheese into tubs, was launched on Monday at the Valio plant located in Odintsovo, near Moscow.

This adds to the plant’s equipment for packing Valio Viola® triangles. The import embargo imposed by Russia on the EU means the cheese and butter used as ingredients are now being imported from countries unaffected by the embargo.

The second packing line more than doubles the capacity to produce processed cheese, allowing Valio to fulfil at least some of the demand from Russian consumers while the embargo is in place.
