# Resource-efficient production chain





A sustainable food system minimizes environmental impacts and makes sensible use of natural resources. Resource efficiency is a key part of Valio’s operations and a way to manage environmental impacts across the value chain. Valio’s success and competitiveness are built on committed, competent, and healthy employees.

We strive to use natural resources as efficiently as possible and reduce our environmental load where our impacts are greatest. In Valio’s production, raw materials and production components are efficiently turned into products, minimizing waste. In a company the size of Valio, packaging plays a key role in resource efficiency and waste prevention. The most important areas of responsible sourcing are supply chain transparency, social responsibility, and environmental responsibility.

We support employee wellbeing at work in collaboration with occupational health and safety, management, supervisors, and employees. Our coaching approach is reflected in the way we treat our colleagues: with respect, a focus on solutions, and inclusively.
