The goal of Valio’s climate programme is to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the milk value chain. Valio’s does science based, short and long term work reduce emissions.
Climate work is part of our daily work
Our climate work consists of dozens of concrete measures to reduce emissions across the entire value chain, from farm to store. We also collaborate with Finnish and international research institutes on several research projects to develop ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We are actively working to reduce emissions on dairy farms and in our production, transportation and logistics, as well as through packaging development.

Valio’s climate work is guided by the Climate programme and Climate roadmap and emission reduction targets set in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). According to Valio Climate Programme, greenhouse gas emissions from Valio’s milk value chain in Finland decreased by 21 % between 2019 and 2025
