The aim of Valio’s Climate Programme is to achieve a carbon-neutral milk value chain by 2035. The focus of the climate work is on reducing emissions and sequestering carbon.
Climate work is part of our daily work
Valio’s climate work is part of our daily work, and it is carried out in collaboration with the entire value chain. Valio’s emissions reduction efforts are based on the latest domestic and international research data. In our Climate Programme, research data is combined with practical actions, and we work in close collaboration with actors in the agriculture, energy, and environmental sectors, and with research institutions.

Carbon-neutral milk value chain by 2035
A carbon-neutral milk chain by 2035 means that at least the same amount of emissions is reduced and carbon removed from the atmosphere as is generated throughout the milk value chain. It means reducing emissions at dairy farms, in transportation, at production plants, at worksites, and in the manufacturing of packaging, in logistics, and elsewhere along milk’s farm-to-store journey.
